How do you get the best wedding photos that are authentically you?

How do you get the best wedding photos that are authentically you? Regardless of whether you want your wedding to be the “talk of the town” and uber trendy, or intimate and sophisticated; you deserve to have wedding photos that are authentically you.

This was a theme I came across online in an article recently. How do you make sure your wedding photos are authentically you?

  • Your photographer should make you feel worthy of being photographed no matter what you look like, or how awkward you are.
  • Your photographer should be interested in you as a couple and see how your personality can be brought out in photos.
  • Your photographer should be curious about and capture different elements you’ve incorporated from your religion, your culture, and your interests.

Why is any of this important? Because early on in the buying process, some couples focus exclusively on the price and miss out on this salient and important subtle stuff. You deserve a lot more than the lowest common denominator.

A good friend of mine had incorporated Greco Roman themes into her Lagos wedding. She is an interior design professional. For her, this was a way of infusing her signature into a ceremony she thought paid very little attention to her and her fiancé.

The photography budget fell to the groom and they ended up with the “affordable” and “safe” guy. His photos weren’t bad… but they paid very little attention to the ambiance and the little details. The photographs were sharp, well composed and properly retouched, but we all could tell that these were not the photos our friend intended.

You deserve a lot more from your wedding photographer. Make sure your photographs are authentically you.
