Luvvie Ajayi, Author of ‘I Am Judging You Too’ recently got married to the love of her life in both a colourful western and Yoruba traditional ceremony.
She shared photos on her Instagram and captioned thus;
In the Yoruba traditional ceremony, the groom asks (begs) the family of his bride for her hand in marriage and he has to prove how bad he wants to marry her. He makes a promise to not just his family but hers that she will be #1in his life. His family also brings gifts to show they want to welcome her into their fold.

Our trad ceremony was led by faith and love. The first time I cried on that day was when I knelt in front of my mother in law as she prayed for me. I saw her tears and couldn’t stop mine. 😭🥰 The other was when Carnell laid prostrate in front of my mother, held her ankles and then loudly professed his love for me. Whewwww. Trapped in a glass case of emotions. And then to be surrounded by our closest friends (our aso ebi squad) wearing our fabric and looking glorious. They hyped us up, danced us in and stood by us. It was perfect.#LuvvJones
