The two love birds, Akua and Kofi, met in university and became friends. With time their love grew from strength to strength and as the years went by the bond and joy they shared joined their hearts together. Last year, Kofi proposed and asked for Akua’s hand in marriage and she said “YES”.
We can’t wait for the beautiful bliss coming this May #Akatheasibuos. They are such a lovely couple.
Here’s the grooms’ love at first sight story:
First time I saw her picture was 3rd April 2014. It was pics from her birthday celebration to which I was not invited to. I remember thinking wow, “I think I may have found a wife”. I know it may sound corny but it is true. Afterwards I kept pushing my friend who had sent the pictures from the party that l really wanted to meet her. A few days later, he sent me some studio pictures of her rocking African print. I used to look at those pictures everyday.
Finally, the day came for us to meet. This special day was 13th April 2014. It was a Sunday and 3 days before my birthday. My good friend doing the intro had told me we were doing a double date at the Golden Tulip Hotel around 3pm. By 1pm, I was all dressed up and ready to meet up. I didn’t rehearse any conversation because I wanted to be original and let the conversation flow naturally.
I waited and waited and waited and waited in my car at Asokwa (Kumasi). I was waiting for a call from my good friend for us to pick up her and her cousin. The call never came. Some good Asokwa mosquitoes feasted on me while I waited. My friend finally called to tell me the meet up had been postponed to 6pm. I sure as hell didn’t let him know that I had already been in close proximity and anxious to cast my first glance at this mystery lady. I had to play it cool.
Finally the time came, he called me to pick him up for us to go and meet up with them. The rendezvous joint at the Golden Tulip Hotel. We got there on time and waited for a few minutes. At last her cousin called and told us they had arrived. I was filled with an equal doze of excitement and nervousness but maintained my cool like a man.
So we walked up to their car lo and behold, I saw the thief of my heart for the first time. She was drop dead gorgeous. I was stunned. What I remember most from my first glance at perfection was her afro hairdo. It looked so good on her.
So fast forward a few minutes later, we all went and sat by the pool side. I had hunters, she had a glass of wine. And till today we are together and I am about to make my wife.
