Onajite Emerhor and Ekechi Ogwo were happily married on April 29th, 2017. Here’s a beautiful narration from the wedding planner with pictures.
#theOgwos2017 Wedding from the Event Planner’s perspective
In a longtime, the memories of this beautiful event won’t escape the hearts of Zapphaire Events.
The Union of Onajite and Ekechi is one of the best references to use when talking about love.
The moment I got involved with the planning of their wedding, all I sensed from conception was two people who wanted a beautiful yet happy moments at their wedding. Their combination depicts all shades of love, happiness, and above all, intimacy.
Onajite is that bride who is keen on details but Ekechi is that groom who would go the extra mile to make his wife happy and such desires couldn’t have been made a reality without the Zapphaire Team on deck.
Let’s talk about the pre-wedding pictures, it wasn’t about Lakin Ogunbanwo behind the camera, the brightness of lights, the couple’s outfit or the quality of the image… it was all about the ambience of love that surrounds the both of them. At that point, I knew it was divine.
The planning process began and we carefully selected the best vendors in the event industry and believe me, they all outdid themselves.
Shout out to Megavision and Décor by Furtullah; these two created heaven on earth. The sight of *all things bright and beautiful*, the beautiful floral stage backdrop, rusty colored VIP sofas, the grand serpentine tables, 20-seater donut tables, floral chandeliers and many more ideas that were originated for #theogwos2017. Not to forget, the balloon wall…. OMG!!! Who else would have thought about that? Décor by Furtullah.
Every idea was well interpreted and executed.
Also, our amazing hostesses who pulled off a grand welcome for the guests as they arrived. Our beautiful wish jar at the photo area where guests dropped their prayers and wishes for the couple, the photobooth and also the beautiful evening reception at the cocktail area with tasty platters of canapés by Sizzling fingaz, chilled glasses of mocktails by Elles Icebox and champagne served by NYBD. An all-in-one package for our beautiful guests.
After some minutes, some guests were directed to the Alexandire table, the Zircon table, the Topaz table, e.t.c….don’t wonder yet. It was just another way of showing our guest how special they are by tagging their tables with names of gemstones and a love quote attached to it.
MC Gordons kept our guests high spirited to receive the *latest couple*. Few minutes later, the couple and their bridal party arrived the venue, the long awaited moment is finally here. Innovate media was super ready, DJ prince was set to hit those wheels, Klala photo and ChudyK already had their lens adjusted to focus on the Grand entrance of #theogwoscrew.
And then the bridal party in two-formation as they danced in, trust me this squad came to slay….slowly, Iskaba by Wande Coal faded as the DJ played I Wanna Get Next To You by Rose Royce…the aisle was clouded by the low fog as the couple walked on high heavens, a standing ovation by the guests, the MC announced. This entrance indeed set the mood right. Few minutes passed and DJ Prince switched into Yawa go dey by Tekno (this was the groom professing his love the naija way), the sparklers went up and the couple danced all the way to the dance floor to join the bridal party…#theogwos entrance was a hit.
One major hit for me was the *Surprise*. I could remember asking the couple before the wedding, if they had any surprise for each other and they said No. Until later, Ekechi came back with a YES. He shared the plan and he said something, “I hope she likes it”…and I said, sure she will love it. I was super excited about this one, like I couldn’t wait to see how he was going to pull it off. He shared the playlist and planning began…
The look on Jite’s face when Ekechi walked down the stairs to receive her from her dad and then walked her back up the stairs.
At that point she was expecting her first dance, but no ma’am, you gotta watch this one… he made sure she was comfortable on the sofa before he took off.
Here comes the surprise!!!
Everyone still wondering what this guys were up to, even Jite.
There came the groom and his men in formation ready for their dance off, this was super romantic. It felt like watching one of your best Artiste perform on stage and you clap and scream…that was Jite’s expression. The smiles on her face as she stood up to watch them perform…it was amazing. She felt super proud of him and his squad. For her, it was another hit.
And then, The Cake. When the wedding cake takes you through a journey of love, beauty, happiness, and joy just at the sight of it. Bakery Box, well done for that 7-tier Picture Wedding Cake.
Dance! Dance!! Dance!!!
Everything smoking hot, ready to paarrttttyyy…
DJ Kay on the wheels, already setting the mood
Gourmet food, grills, waffles, cocktails and some champagne… all ready to be served.
The after party was a major hit…no dull moments. There was a lot to eat and drink, even the couple couldn’t stand the heat as they walked up the stairs. It was a dope way to wrap it up.
Our you-can’t-do-without item at an after party, the customized after party disposable cups. Thanks to @afterpartycups.
It was an amazing event, our guests were satisfied, most especially the couple.
I must say, every part of #theOgwos2017 was a major hit, *back-to-back*
