The couple tied the knot in Indianapolis at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Reception followed immediately at the Columbia Club.
The beautiful couple shared the following stories of how they met:
In Tochi’s Words
In April 2015, a friend of mine was getting married and I was one of her bridesmaids. The dance rehearsal, which was about two weeks to the wedding, was where I met Tega for the very first time. Tega was a groomsman. I remember watching him dance and thought to myself “what a terrible dancer”. We didn’t talk much that day. The next time we saw each other was the Friday before the wedding at the rehearsal. We practiced dance steps and ended up being partners. On the wedding day, we danced in together and it was really fun. We talked a lot after that day and it seemed like we have been friends for a long time. Fortunately, we both realized we had plans on coming to the US later that year to further our education. We moved down here and the rest is history.
Tega is very loving, selfless, tall, dark and handsome, of course. He is so caring not just to me but to people around him. He always willing to help and very supportive of me. He pushes me to be the best at everything I do and believes so much in me even when I don’t believe in myself. He is a God-fearing person and I’m so grateful to God and couldn’t be happier to be with such an amazing person. I’m so proud of him as he is very hard-working and always gives 101%. I’m so blessed to be marrying into his beautiful family. Now I have two more brothers and they have showed me so much love since day one. Tega, my love, I’m looking forward to the many things God has in store for us and cannot wait to embark on this beautiful journey with you.
In Tega’s Words
I had heard about it before, but I never actually witnessed it first hand until the day I met Tochi. I am not saying it was love at first sight, but the thought immediately crossed my mind that she could be my wife.
We met during a wedding rehearsal in Lagos, Nigeria which we were both part of the bridal party. I immediately inquired about her from the Groom. She was such a beauty and I could hardly concentrate on anything else. We had our first dance during the wedding and connected right after that. I realized there was much more to Tochi than just being a beautiful damsel. She was God fearing, kind hearted, genuinely cared about people and career focused. I could not help but think about her all the time, I looked for any opportunity to get to spend sometime with her and we grew closer.
She is my support and the one I always want to spend every life moment with. She is everything I want in a woman and I cherish the day I set my eyes on her. Thank God he brought us together and I am glad we are starting this journey together.
