Steeped in rich traditions coupled with authenticity, the MINA STONES brand is synonymous with Handmade Luxury. Jewelry include cufflinks, rings, earrings, bracelets and neckpieces.
MINA STONES was founded in 2011 by Lotanna Amina Egwuatu. The name “MINA” came from her Hausa name “Amina” meaning Trustworthy and Honest. Lotanna has always been passionate about gemstones from childhood when she began collecting them. She is a nature lover who aspires to add value to the beautiful and unique gemstones found in Nigeria and other African countries.
She began to design with gemstones in her first year at University and went ahead to set up a gemstone jewelry design studio in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria. Her designs are Inspired by nature, African colors and traditions. Her detailed and precise work reflects her background in
Engineering. After her undergraduate studies, she began her career in Gemology and Jewelry fully by undergoing several courses from prestigious institutions including GIA (Gemological Institute of America), the world’s foremost name in Gemology. Lotanna hopes to help in creating a formidable gemstone industry in her home country (Nigeria) someday.
